Critics Consensus

2 Days in New York breezes past its shortcomings thanks to an enjoyably madcap plot and the sweet chemistry between its well-matched stars.

2 Days in New York is initially quite pleasing in its chaotic near slapstick but the non-stop manic insouciance grows wearisome and ultimately self-indulgent. Go to Full Review

This is a catastrophically unfunny sequel in which the possibilities for a French-American culture clash are quickly doomed by the cruelly unfunny dialogue and some very bad performances. Go to Full Review

Delpy’s film is warm, deeply funny, and unabashedly whimsical. Let’s hope we get to catch up with these characters again in another five years’ time. Go to Full Review

2 Days in New York is a medium effort and even though there are genuine laughs and touching moments, they are too scattered and far-between. Go to Full Review

Kylo S Feb 9, 2019 I would have much rather have watched his comedy show. This movie was not well written, not well played. Perhaps I have issues with movies in languages that I have to read sub-titles. Perhaps I have a thing against poorly put together movies. How this movie got a 66 on the tomatometer I have NO IDEA. Choose another Rock movie if you want to see him. This movie is below par. See more
Han R Apr 10, 2018 If you are familiar with Delpy, you will recognise her typical style of humour and French charm. There were some golden moments and laugh out louds as Delpy's character's French family conflict with New York. See more
Hagrid S Jul 30, 2012 Julie Delpy's slightly indulgent comedy is more annoying than funny.
