Following a car accident on his 81st birthday, ruthless businessman Jack Watson (George Burns) discovers that he's somehow switched bodies with his timid 18-year-old grandson, David (Charlie Schlatter). While David lies comatose in Watson's aging body, Watson has no choice but to adopt his grandson's identity. Thrilled with his newfound youth, Watson soon excels at sports and becomes the most popular kid at school, but with his new lease on life comes a new perspective as well.

Although Burns is, of course, a beloved institution, and any opportunity to see him is welcome, he is not given much to do in the movie, and he doesn't do much with it. Go to Full Review

Not even the charms of Mr. George Burns can salvage this long-in-the-tooth "Big" rip-off. Go to Full Review

Sep 27, 2018 Of all the "switcheroo" movies of the 1980s, THIS IS THE BEST ONE. MUCH better than "Big", or the Dudley Moore flick or the other one. We get to see Charlie Schlatter act "18 again", and we get to hear George Burn's delightful voiceovers, as he shows the kids how it's done! Critics?? What do THEY know?? They liked "The English Patient" (ZzzzzzzZZZZZzzz) GIVE ME A BREAK. Charlie Schlatter pulls off an 81 year old in his body very very well, and it's a delight to watch him pull this off after all this time. Also, this movie has no loose ends, and things patch up between other members of the family also. Jennifer Runyon is also a delight. My movie buff friend watched this with me in 1996, and he agreed that this is FAR BETTER than "Big". 5 stars See more
George S Mar 2, 2017 Decent comedy about a grandfather switching bodies with his grandson. This time it is breaking glass that causes the transfer. One has to feel for Russ, who loses a big pot in a poker game, the respect of his fraternity brothers, his girlfriend Robin and the Midwest Regional race. See more
