After recovering from a horrific accident, paraplegic Preston Rogers (Matt McCoy) moves back into the remote cabin where he and his now-deceased wife once lived. When one of his new neighbors, Karen (Ashley Hartman), is attacked by a gigantic ape-like beast, Rogers contacts the local authorities. But after the police -- and even his personal nurse, Otis Wilhelm (Christien Tinsley) -- dismiss Rogers as a delusional widower, he sets out to stop the abominable creature himself.

You keep looking for a sign that its young writer-director, Ryan Schifrin, is going for a tongue-in-cheek romp. But no, he seems to be deadly earnest. Go to Full Review

Not only are slasher/horror/splatter films enjoying a sharp spike in popularity, right now they're also where one can find the best comedy. Go to Full Review

With the design of a slasher, the awkwardness of a low-budget monster flick, and the hilarity of a spoof of genuine horror, the film manages to be thoroughly entertaining. Go to Full Review

Ryan Schifrin does a good job of calling in every favor he could and creating one of the best Bigfoot movies of the entire subgenre. Go to Full Review

To say that "Abominable" is the best movie ever to premiere on a basic cable channel is degrading both to the movie and to Bigfoot. Go to Full Review

Luke M Feb 19, 2019 I'm a sucker for Bigfoot movies even though 85% are just down right awful,Abominable was no different.. Abominable had the right idea but failed something awful. Storyline was okay at best but the acting and action were just not good. if you like Bigfoot movies then give it a chance you might like it better then I did See more
Abraham R Sep 17, 2018 Weird creature feature + slasher + rear window + wtf
Hagrid S Nov 8, 2017 My mom and I watch this often. For what it is.. (an obvious B movie) it’s really quite Good. One of our comfort movies on a cold rainy day when I go to visit her. See more
Luke S May 5, 2017 I've seen worse monster movies. The effects aren't as bad as they could have been... Lance Henriksen is only in for about 10 minutes before an off screen Wilhelm Scream death. There are other decent, better actors in this movie besides the leads; they just aren't in it very much. If it's on TV and you have 90 minutes to spare, and you enjoy low budget creature features... you could do better... and a lot worse than this. See more
George R Apr 18, 2010 This tv horror film successfully combines a monster horror film plot with a "Rear Window" narrative to make for an interesting experience. Not only that, but its use of older costumes, legendary horror actors and practical effects give this film a satisfying nostalgic aesthetic without neatly placing it into a particular time period. Though, with all this in mind, it does fault in not developing its characters fully before killing them off and the plot suffers from being very predictable at times. Nonetheless, this film is a vastly underrated horror gem that's worth seeing for it's unique, throwback style. See more
