Critics Consensus

Though Hackman and Freeman turn in solid performances, Under Suspicion moves at a plodding rate and has a disappointing ending.

Anakin W Jan 18, 2019 What an experience! An agonizing experience. It's terrible to see a movie with good actors where the best acting job is done by Monica Bellucci. She's gorgeous but let's face it, she just stands there and looks good. The script is silly, the directing job awful. And it´s agonizingly long. It could have worked, and it's a maybe, as a half hour TV episode of Climax!.. or The Twilight Zone... See more
Draco R Oct 7, 2018 Terrible. Lifeless plot. Unexplained events towards end of film. Really cheap acting from Freeman and Hackman. Budget $25mil and took about a tenth of that at the box office... which is more than what they deserved for this tripe. See more
Albus P Jan 19, 2018 A dull waste of time. The ending was unexpected, but this was a terrible movie on the whole. (First and only viewing - 1/20/2018) See more
Harry L Dec 24, 2017 what a rubbish movie.
Draco M Apr 9, 2017 Great crime thriller murder mystery lead with fire by Hackman and Freeman.
Hagrid S Oct 25, 2008 i was surprised to see this caliber of cast in something so dreadful. it does sort of resemble a film noir in some aspects as much of the story occurs in one room but i just couldnt get past how mediocre it was and how i expected so much better from everyone. By the end, i didnt even care what happened, i was already done watching. See more
