As a touring musician clinging to dreams of stardom, aging rocker Jack Frost (Michael Keaton) never had much time for his wife, Gabby (Kelly Preston), and young son, Charlie (Joseph Cross). A year after Jack's tragic death in a car accident on Christmas Day, Charlie plays a mournful tune on his father's harmonica. Much to his surprise, the elder Frost is magically brought to life as a snowman on the family lawn. Given a second chance, Charlie and Jack struggle to make up for lost time.

Sentimental schmaltz and uninspired storytelling sink this film.

It's a modern fairytale, complete with a magic harmonica that brings the snowman to life and a picture-postcard setting, featuring row upon row of twinkling Christmas lights and endless snowy vistas. Go to Full Review

Jack Frost is so treacly and fake it makes you feel like you're trapped in a winter-wonderland paperweight. Go to Full Review

It took four screenwriters to come up with dialogue so horrendous, it could have single-handedly ushered in a new era of silent cinema. "You the man!" "No, you the man!" "No, I'm the snowman!" Go to Full Review

Luke R Dec 12, 2018 sure the CGI is horrible what did you expect this movie came out in 1998 but a sad film and a yearly movie for me
George P Oct 25, 2018 Jack Frost is sort of a live-action version of Frosty the Snowman with a '90s spin. In this case, the snowman isn't just a frozen popsickle friend, it's Dad, come back from the dead in a rather unusual body to get a second chance to do something he failed at the first time around - being a parent. Sadly, the tale of Frosty works a lot better as an animated short than a feature length movie with real actors. The snowman, which is the work of Jim Henson's Creature Shop, is the most glaring problem. It looks about as real as a man in a costume, and it's tough to suspend disbelief when you're trying to locate the zipper. See more
