Harry G Apr 15, 2017 Mario Lanza had already recorded the score for The Student Prince before he was dumped by MGM, so Edmund Purdom has the thankless job of mouthing to Lanza's singing voice; Ann Blyth tries hard to breathe some life into Sigmund Romberg's operetta, but even with songs such as "Deep In My Heart" and "Serenade," the film seems overblown and dull.
