Kasdan's movie doesn't succeed, but see it: it's the season's most fascinating failure. Go to Full Review

This is the sound of a filmmaker wrestling (transparently) with ideas, talking at but not quite down to his audience. Go to Full Review

It may not be the grand movie it aimed to be, but in a year as arid as 1991, it's frankly the best. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Han R Feb 19, 2019 One of my favorite all time movies having actually grown up in Inglewood California where the movie infamously starts in one of cinemas most gripping scenes ever. I've shared this classic gem with a lot of people who said, "That is my life.." Everybody can relate to this movie somehow. Pure love for this Lawrence Kasdan (sp) classic. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. Ron W Jan 5, 2019 This film is a wonderful character study of the complexities of just knowing other people. Kevin Kline is a tempted husband who is struggling with his wife who is currently suffering what seems to be a mid-life crisis. His friend Steve Martin is also in a crisis of his own making as his fun nature turns into self loathing. Surrounded by all this mess Kline seems lost, that is until he meets an ordinary friend (Glover) who has extra-ordinary common sense. If you like films with character depth and love of demanding audience attentions spans then this is the one for you. See more
Leia S Jan 5, 2019 This character film offers everything for movie lovers and explores the depths and complications of just knowing other humans. Steve Martin shines as a man disgusted by his own actions and yet remains trapped within them. Then there is Kevin Kline who is tempted but steady to be there for his wife who is suffering what seems to be a mid-life crisis. Then there is Danny Glover who is an ordinary man with extra-ordinary common sense who tries his best to navigate the unfair world around him. The movie like Glover's character is a ROCK in time. If you want to watch an honest movie with depth and requires you to think I suggest giving this one a try. See more
Hermione S Aug 23, 2017 A good piece that very well may presage the better "Crash," about how life's randomness ultimately connects in strange & mysterious ways, some good. However, GC lacks the fast moving, engaging, entreating & incendiary snap, crackle, & pop, pop, pop poignancy of Best Picture "Crash." But the "sermon" is about the same, this a decade, or so, earlier. Worth a look if not in the mood for Marvel. Kline seems always to be good in his roles. No exception here. Near the end, Steverino Martin recites a good soliloquy on it all. | - Norm de Guerre See more
Anakin P Jun 7, 2017 It is a subtle yet moving story which may have been a disaster given the emotional trapdoors it had. But it stays on the firm ground of being both realistic and heart-warming. See more
Hermione W Jan 16, 2017 A watchable mish mash of stories but of no real interest
