The murder of a museum curator places art dealer Jack Saunders (John Heard) under suspicion for selling forged treasures to museums. When Jack suddenly dies in a car crash, his wife Adrienne (Goldie Hawn) tries to discover what he did on her own. She finds that she knew little about the man she was married to. The more she learns about her husband's possible illegal activities and double life, the more she places her daughter, and herself, in grave danger.

Deceived opens with an ancient thriller formula, elevates itself to passages of genuine suspense, and then ends with a climax so absurd that it takes a real effort of memory to recall that parts of the movie were really pretty good.

This movie was way too formulatic for me to enjoy, its a very standard thriller by the numbers, that basically doesn't feature anything new or surprising and is one that is like hundred of other genres movies, especially like those made around the same period. Its not like this movie is completely horrible or anything but for a genre piece it isn't anything special. So for this being a solid 90' s movie, I give " Deceived " a C.

Synopsis
