Enjoying a life of ease in the court of Egypt's pharaoh, Moses (Charlton Heston) discovers his Hebrew heritage and, later, God's expectations of him. He dedicates himself to liberating his people from captivity and -- with the aid of plagues and divine intervention -- manages to lead them out of Egypt and across the Red Sea. A greater challenge comes in the form of the golden calf idol, however, and it takes an unforgettable visitation by God on Mount Sinai for Moses' mission to prevail.

One of the most epics and amazing movies of all time. Never I have seen this story portrayed in such a glorious and respectful way. When I was a child and first watched this movie, it had me taken on the spot. Three hours experiencing all sort of emotions, from awe to fear, from happiness to saddness. I could almost feel the burning heat of the mighty Egypt and tremble on God's almighty presence. I rejoyced while seeing so many lives being freed from their bondage. Now, so many years later... I still can feel the same magic, go throught it again and again, noticing things that children don't see. Every time I watch, its like the first. One day I'll know this movie word by word, and will still sound like a new movie every time. Just... Fantastic. And surely my favourite movie from all time.

The definitive Exodus film still holds up well today. The score is wonderful as well as the acting. The first half might be slightly more interesting, but that may be because it is (mostly) not in the well-known Bible tale.

Not fully accurate (the movies never are), but quite enjoyable and more or less true to the original tale. The acting is splendid - particularly Yul Brynner and Charlton Heston. The effects - despite being quite old - are quite good, too. I like its pro-freedom and anti-totalitarian themes.
