It is the closest the sound film has come to recapturing the genius of the silent movie chase comedy. Go to Full Review

Because Simon is dealing with a place -- and a commonplace -- rather than people, it is only too easy to see the jokes coming long before they arrive. Go to Full Review

Feb 2, 2019 The best comedy movie ever made!
Leia S Nov 13, 2018 The most nerve-racking movie I have ever seen. Maybe because Jack Lemmon is so good an actor at portraying an angry disgruntled husband, maybe because of the endless mishaps the couple encounters, Had my stomach tied in knots which for me was not a pleasurable viewing experience, Way too realistic if intended as a comedy. Aug 8, 2018 The Out-of-Towners with Jack Lemon and Sandy Denis is hilarious @ One of the funniest films, from start to finish.
George R Feb 3, 2018 Jack Lemmon is an extremely good actor which makes me wonder why he ever accepted the role in this depressing movie. It was considered a comedy, but I found nothing funny about it. It's just a series of everything that could go wrong when a couple goes on a trip to NYC - thus the title: the Out of Towners. If you enjoy watching an ill-tempered man complain to everyone about every experience he has then you'll enjoy this film. I like comedies that are funny, that lift your spirits, not one that is depressing. See more
