[Director] Wilkins understands that what we don't see is often more unsettling than what we do. But he also throws in plenty of well-earned gore, making this an ideal option if you're looking for a few new Halloween scares. Go to Full Review

There have been worse horror flicks, but although this one offers a few scares, it doesn't have a lot of imagination. Go to Full Review
Joe Morgenstern Wall Street Journal Oct 31, 2008
It's short, taut, nicely shot, well-acted, astutely directed, specific where it might have been generic, original enough to be engrossing and derivative enough to be amusing. Go to Full Review

Borrows just enough from Tremors to make for a successful storytelling formula without ever feeling like a complete imitator. Go to Full Review

An interesting example of film-making at the lowest end of budgets, Splinter has some good ideas, just not the time, budget, nor construction to pull them all off. Go to Full Review

Albus W Dec 31, 2018 Give me a low budget thriller with no-name stars any day over the overblown, overhyped garbage that passes for hits these days. Builds suspense. Keeps it coming. Pacing good, scares adequate, dark creepy southern rural night locked in a gas station with a killer: check. Satisfying and cool. See more
Leia S Apr 14, 2018 Very, very underrated. Very, very scary. I recommend this to any horror fans out there!
Han S Mar 20, 2018 D-. The only redeeming quality of this movie was the occasional good monster/splinter shot. The final monster was a joke, there were editing/plot mistakes, and the plot turned stupid to the point of major audience insult. See more
Hagrid W Nov 28, 2017 A somewhat imperfect, yet overall greatly executed horror flick about a particularly nasty parasite that kills and infects victims through splinters. Where this film succeeds is in both the exemplary emphasis on developing the characters, and in the absolutely phenomenal practical gore effects, as there is not even an OUNCE of CGI in this movie, which suits it amazingly well, especially considering it's slight similarity to "The Thing". 8.7/10 See more
Abraham S Nov 28, 2017 Scary and thrilling...
Theodore S Nov 8, 2017 one of the best low budget movies i have seen.
