While the when-animals-attack genre has been a staple of direct-to-retail movies for decades now, this tries for a more realistic approach than the usual rubber or CGI reptile's buffet. Go to Full Review

What Andrew Traucki and David Nerlich accomplish with such a slight budget is an absolute feat. The croc and the action scenes look incredibly real, and the human drama is satisfying enough to carry audiences through the survival horror bits. Go to Full Review

...the indie-stylings of Black Water help distinguish it as a unique entry in the creature feature horrors. It may be the smallest of the Aussie croc flicks, but it's no less effective. Go to Full Review

Han S Aug 22, 2018 In terms of killer animal films, I have seen better, but much worse too. This one is okay, it just blends in with the rest. The movie is very cheap and minimalist, which means that the camera work is very raw, which is good, but the problem with this movie is that the characters are paper thinly developed and a lot of the film is boring dialogue. But the flick does manage to redeem itself near the end with some disgusting images and gore and the special effects are remarkable, little CGI is used, and it really looks good. It has a tiny bit of tension, and overall, it's just a killer crocodile film, but for those who like that kind of stuff, check it out ! See more
Poe S Feb 16, 2018 Black Water needed more scares and the characterization is poor with the acting also being weak. But it's still a pretty solid croc attack film with a couple of very creepy, so well executed sequences, a great use of its interesting setting and an admirable approach with less action, more realistic scenarios and no use of CGI whatsoever. George P Jun 19, 2017 Most realistic Croc film if there ever was one!
Albus G Jun 14, 2017 Really good crocodile survival film, although not as good as Rogue. What brought the film down though is that I deduced the ending very early on in the movie. If you know the nature of croc's eating habits, and you introduce a plot device early on than it's pretty easy to put together how it will all come about. See more
Albus S Jan 25, 2017 Has Some Scenes That Are Truly Scary & Creepy As The Water Is Made Menacing & Untrustworthy By Every Mishap Or Mistake. Being Based (Loosely) On A True Story Gives It Added Kudos But In The End The Way Is Lost As The Plot Becomes A Little Too Macabre & Silly. See more
Hagrid G Jan 3, 2017 Pretty good isolation/killer Croc flick. Sets up the tension and characters nicely. Impressive for such a low budget.
