After floating in space for 57 years, Lt. Ripley's shuttle is found by a deep space salvage team. Upon arriving at LV-426, the marines find only one survivor, a nine-year-old girl named Newt. But even these battle-hardened marines with all the latest weaponry are no match for the hundreds of aliens that have invaded the colony.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Propelled by a commanding and layered performance from Sigourney Weaver, Aliens trades the original's slow burn dread for tightly orchestrated action and visceral thrills to stand as a sequel worthy of its predecessor.

Aliens is a knockabout. It's one of a small handful of sequels that, as entertainment, approach their progenitors' value. Go to Full Review

The movie lacks some of the original's ability to shock, but it makes up for it with great action. It is less horrific than "Alien," but more exciting. Go to Full Review

Cameron isn't has poetic or visually imaginative as Scott was, but there's juice and macabre humor in "Aliens." Go to Full Review

Vitality is everything, as English writer Thomas Carlyle once said. And this film, as well as Cameron's Terminator, has that quality. Go to Full Review

Apr 15, 2019 A masterclass in action and sci-Fi however, it doesn't live up to the terror and stylistic integrity of Ridley scott's Original horror.
Ron R Apr 13, 2019 Love this Movie. Has held up really well against father time. Watching the directors cut is definitely the way to go. it explains in more detail how the colony became over run, as well as why the Aliens didn't just bust though the med-lab/operations barricades to overtake the remaining Marines (like they did the colonists before them.). It also does a deeper dive into the psychological reasons of why Ripley goes back for Newt and wont abandon/leave her. behind See more
Hagrid W Apr 12, 2019 Even though the first installment is better, Aliens is still the perfect follow up. Great buildup of tension for some awesome final scenes. See more
Finn W Apr 3, 2019 James Cameron's sequel to Alien is more so a directorial re-imaging then a proper sequel, where elements of horror are now replaced with action. The premises remains largely the same, An apex killing machine (now multiple) hunts down a crew. However, Camerons world building and directorial story telling allow the equal to stand shoulder and shoulder with the original. See more
Han G Apr 3, 2019 still one of the best
Leia S Mar 31, 2019 best aliens movie by far.
