Social Media and now AI are both flourishing and growing. We understand the criticism leveled comparing Sorkin’s The Social Network to this film, and we agree. But Madison and White kept us engaged in this cautionary while we watched this screen.

For a script that purports to be about plotting suspense and crime, it is lame, predictable and a malfeasance. Yes, Showalter successfully creates a couple of effective jump scares, but unfortunately, they don’t save this film. We just didn’t buy it.

You may get frustrated with frantic misdirection, but Iñárritu presents a lot to look at and absorb. Digger presents issues ripe with relevant satire and a wild resolution to behold. In the end, Iñárritu and Cruise won us over. Yes, we dig Digger.

Female empowerment harkening back to finding ultimate fulfillment with the right guy is not so much anymore. Still, it’s good seeing Bullock and Kidman together, and Wiest with Channing poking fun at each other, even if this film is not so magical.

The ending of this melodramatic dystopian sci-fi story is no surprise, and pretty sappy. Scott’s direction of the scenes in the air, much of which was shot over fantastic locations in Italy, are uplifting. But the film itself, fails to soar.

An uneasy yet riveting watch. In this fictionalized exploration of young Anthony Bourdain, Dominic Sessa captures the exhausting, irascible, unlikable narcissist personality of the late acclaimed chef and TV personality.

Little is subtle here. Loud, oversaturated, in-your-face, Araki goes for more laughs than in his previous films. Brash and frantic, not everyone’s date night movie. But with shockingly bold performances, Hoffman, and Wilde with a paddle, pack a wallop.

Good acting, action, writing and emotion as seen in Into the Spider-Verse could help you get over Superhero film fatigue. Bernthal and Sink (in a searing role) stand out here. Cretton throws all up against the wall, but Holland slings a web that sticks.

Christopher Nolan and Matt Damon took on this near impossible task. Nolan conceptualized, wrote, directed, cast and found a new way to use the largest screen format to make this epic tale even grander. Interested in how films are made? This is a must see.

Moana does honor to the beauty, culture, and people of the islands in the South Pacific. Ironically, this cg heavy re-creation seems more like a cartoon. Less heartwarming, Disney hasn’t found the secret to bringing its animated classic back to life.

Director/Actor Wilde has put together an engaging ensemble, with herself, Rogen, Cruz and Norton in a fascinating study of a tired marriage envying the excitement of passion. At times it’s uncomfortably funny. But we suggest you accept this invite.

Action and Minion giggles to like and laugh at are packed in a reasonable hour and a half. Creator, Pierre coffin, with all his Minion voices, and talented Lynch and Delage, boost these overactive Minions to the top of the heap of their own film history.

Alcock works hard in action sequences that pop up to keep us interested. But this film does nothing to lessen super hero fatigue. It’s a chaotic mess with no post credit scene showing something to look forward to, because this film never really takes off.

Stanton and Harris display screen time vs. play time without making tech super villains. Do they pull punches with kids getting as addicted as parents to screens? Maybe. But Pixar wriggles laughs and warm fuzzies for cool toys worth playing with again.

Emily Blunt carries this film. But Spielberg’s aliens look like cousins of those we’ve before. It just takes too long for that disappointing payoff. Spielberg knows how to get reaction out of action, but to us, Disclosure Day felt like a cover up.

Carney’s surprise twist doesn’t really surprise, but provides a heart tugging moment and a money shot. Despite contrivances, seeing likable Rudd and Jonas sing and spar together with the audience humming the pop song leaving the theatre, this duet worked.

Credit to Director Maras along with co-writer Haig taking what could have been a very dry subject. But with the capable and convincing performances from Scott, Fraser and Messina, this is a detailed history lesson that delivers a winning forecast.

Maybe it’s time for the hero to lose the helmet more often, and tickle Grogu to get more reaction. We really wanted to care more for these characters and this film. This aimless tale feels lost in space.

Hoffman and Feldshuh with Woodall and Rose Liu hit all the right notes. There are several story lines Roher is able to keep going and flowing. But without the sound design, this touching, and often surprising musical love story would fall on deaf ears.
