On a String is a good film, a very good one, and I’m more than a little stunned to learn it’s Isabel Hagen’s directorial debut.

There were moments watching this film where I wished I was home playing with my pets. But I was never disengaged, and I was never bored.

In Resident Evil, Cregger never plays the horror as a joke. It’s always deadly serious. The comedy comes from Bryan’s frequently ridiculous reactions.

Pujol...simply observes, and by doing so, he shows us the behavior of two individuals. That’s far more interesting than a simpleminded "Drugs and alcohol are bad" parable.

Look, either you’re the kind of person who positively responds to the line, "Go to your room. Get under the bed. Momma needs to get her guns," or you’re not.

Director Khiray Richards has been operating in the indie film space for a while now. It shows, since The Gospel of Dating is an undeniable crowd-pleaser that’s made with an undeniable voice.

I keep finding myself thinking that it’s the MCU’s best outing in a long time, and potentially again the best live action Spider-Man, if not then at least one that’s in the same weight class as Raimi’s films.

If you’re someone who vibes with the older Happy Madison comedies, odds are you’ll have a nice time with Wing Man. That audience is mostly guys in their late 40s and up. Like me, yet I bounced off this movie like a bug and a windshield.

While a lot of films about filmmaking tend to be cynical and arch, this film is unapologetically sweet-natured toward its cast of oddballs and what it takes to get a movie made, whether or not the end result is good.
