It’s a tender, humane study of class, desire, and the ethics of pointing a camera at someone else’s pain. When does empathy become exploitation?

Casting Jenna Ortega as Klara was a stroke of genius. We’re finally able to see her stretching her creepy, kookie, mysterious and spooky range. As Klara, she is lovely, innocent, optimistic and consummately moving—not unlike the film.

It's what I like to call a verbal action thriller. There are no explosions, car chases or gratuitous sex scenes to jolt you awake every five minutes. The pyrotechnics are all in the dialogue, which fires at rapid pace.

Digger is unlike any film you’ve ever seen, a credit to Iñárritu’s off-the-charts imagination. Tom Cruise is fearless, the ensemble is a wonder, and the design is jaw-dropping.

The comic timing is slightly sluggish, the color palette is muddier than usual, and where the film could have been ROFL funny, it settles for amusing. But what it lacks in sharpness, it makes up for in heart — and who can complain about that?

Unapologetically predictable, but that's Statham. You’re not there for surprises, you’re there for the thrill of watching a man in his fifties dismantle an entire criminal operation with his bulging forearms and the weapons the bad guys came in with.

This good natured, multigenerational comedy serves up gentle but sometimes edgy humor that will amuse tennis fans and pickleball fans alike, as well as the uninitiated. Pairs perfectly with a crisp chardonnay.

The film gives brilliant fan service—those who have been breathlessly following the Spiderverse for decades will doubtless be thrilled by it. But those who check in only occasionally may be left scratching their heads and yawning.

While David Wain's directing style is a bit uneven and the timing is off occasionally, he's still able to pull off a fabulously fluffy and eccentric sex comedy, hilariously tied to an Oz-some classic.

Definitely Wilde's best work to date, the chemistry is sublime. The actors come together to find a shared rhythm, the way a good jazz quartet does. At times discordant, at others wild and surprising, but always returning to the same mesmerizing vibe.

At the end of its blessedly short 90 minute run time, you may feel a bit overwhelmed. Minions & Monsters is still a good laugh, if a bit overstuffed. It’s a colorful, chaotic ride that proves you really can have too much of a good thing.

It's refreshing to see a superhero film that's not just a souped up smash fest. Although at times it's dark and messy, it's mostly the triumphant story of a girl and her dog. That never gets old.

It’s provocative, it’s frequently dazzling, and it's obviously the work of a master. But the buildup is a bit long and erratic and the payoff is somewhat anticlimactic. It's not Spielberg's best work, but it's still absolutely worth watching.

The film is ideal for the little ones, with just the right mix of delights, scares and wonderments. Adult audiences who remember the glories of Star Wars past may come away a bit disappointed, but no franchise is flawless.
