Jeff Bayer The Scorecard Review Jan 29, 2014 5/10 I am completely fine with Pine giving us more Jack Ryan in the future. Hopefully they can find a new script or go back to one of the Tom Clancy novels for an interesting story. Go to Full Review Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit (2014) 55% 38%

Jeff Bayer The Scorecard Review Jan 29, 2014 5/10 Because of his brilliant standup comedy, I find myself rooting for Hart. I hope he will have the chance to star in a film that is worthy of him. 'Ride Along' isn't that opportunity. Go to Full Review Ride Along (2014) 17% 58%

Jeff Bayer The Scorecard Review Jul 23, 2013 8/10 I would happily watch it again, which is something I rarely say about horror films. Go to Full Review The Conjuring (2013) 86% 86%

Jeff Bayer The Scorecard Review Jun 29, 2013 9/10 The 'Before' trilogy is a vacation for me. I am taken away, and it is never for long enough. I genuinely feel lucky to have these movies. Go to Full Review Before Midnight (2013) 98% 82%

Jeff Bayer The Scorecard Review Jun 29, 2013 8/10 While it's nothing ground-breaking, 'Monsters University' is really, really nice once it gets past the idea of Mike and Sully being at odds. Go to Full Review Monsters University (2013) 80% 81%

Jeff Bayer The Scorecard Review Jun 29, 2013 7/10 While it gives you your fix, it doesn't put Superman back on top of our cinematic superheroes. Go to Full Review Man of Steel (2013) 57% 70%

Jeff Bayer The Scorecard Review Jun 2, 2013 5/10 Perhaps we were wrong to complain about the repetitive nature of 'The Hangover Part II.' At least there were funny moments. This is a slow action film, with only a few amusing parts. Go to Full Review The Hangover Part III (2013) 21% 44%

Jeff Bayer The Scorecard Review May 21, 2013 7/10 It's definitely a fun action movie, but I'm ready for these films to boldly go in their own direction, instead of hanging on to the originals. Go to Full Review Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) 84% 75%

Jeff Bayer The Scorecard Review May 17, 2013 8/10 It's the funniest superhero film, and it doesn't feel like it's pandering. That's the power of Downey, Jr. and now Shane Black. Go to Full Review Iron Man 3 (2013) 79% 61%

Jeff Bayer The Scorecard Review Mar 6, 2013 5/10 Better than 'Project X' and 'The Hangover Part II,' worse than 'The Hangover' and 'Superbad.' So yeah, it's average. Go to Full Review 21 and Over (2013) 26% 46%

Jeff Bayer The Scorecard Review Mar 6, 2013 7/10 This film has everything you want out of an epic adventure, even though you've seem almost all of it before. Go to Full Review Jack the Giant Slayer (2013) 52% 55%

Jeff Bayer The Scorecard Review Feb 22, 2013 4/10 Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson isn't an 'ordinary man.' That's why he has a nickname and looks like a real-life superhero. That's just one problem with this film. Go to Full Review Snitch (2013) 57% 61%

Jeff Bayer The Scorecard Review Feb 22, 2013 5/10 While the idea of giving fairy tale stars Hansel and Gretel the R-rated bloody adult treatment sounds like a good idea to me, it turns out it's only good in theory. Go to Full Review Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters (2013) 17% 53%

Jeff Bayer The Scorecard Review Feb 22, 2013 4/10 On paper it's a good comedic pairing, but that's it. About 45 minutes into the film, I realized I was trying to laugh, instead of the film making me laugh. Go to Full Review Identity Thief (2013) 20% 53%

Jeff Bayer The Scorecard Review Feb 22, 2013 4/10 The whole film is mild until the end. You won't believe it, but it's also not worth believing. Go to Full Review Safe Haven (2013) 13% 67%

Jeff Bayer The Scorecard Review Jan 22, 2013 5/10 Arnold Schwarzenegger gets knocked down, and slowly gets back up again in a film that is a rental at best. Go to Full Review The Last Stand (2013) 61% 53%

Jeff Bayer The Scorecard Review Dec 11, 2012 8/10 The completely obvious comparison to the mobster world and our American economic system is a welcome, straight-forward surprise for storytelling. Go to Full Review Killing Them Softly (2012) 74% 44%

Jeff Bayer The Scorecard Review Dec 11, 2012 8/10 While this might not be what we expect from a film about The Master of Suspense, it's oddly a fun romp, with Helen Mirren eventually stealing the show. Go to Full Review Hitchcock (2012) 59% 60%

Jeff Bayer The Scorecard Review Dec 11, 2012 7/10 While Spielberg captures a time, Day-Lewis captures another brilliant performance, and some of the supporting actors may capture Oscar nominations, the film didn't capture my soul the way I was hoping. Go to Full Review Lincoln (2012) 90% 80%

Jeff Bayer The Scorecard Review Dec 11, 2012 6/10 I rolled my eyes, laughed at, and laughed with this film. I was entertained. It's a sloppy enjoyable mess, and the most fun I had watching a 'Twilight' movie. Go to Full Review The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 (2012) 49% 70%
